1st April 2009: Herzliya, Israel and Las Vegas – SAI Technology Inc., a leading supplier of advanced wireless products to the WiMAX, LTE, WiFi and GPS markets, announced today that it has selected Comsys Mobile’s ComMAX™ CM1125 baseband processor to enable its line of mobile WiMAX handsets.
The ComMAX CM1125 is a multimode mobile WiMAX/GSM-EDGE baseband processor. Its unique single-chip solution delivers significant size and power savings together with a high level of user experience. In addition to supporting dual-mode mobile WiMAX and GSM/EDGE operation for data and voice services, the CM1125 enables voice service continuity between WiMAX VoIP and GSM CS voice with seamless handover - even when travelling at high speed - using a standard IMS/VCC solution. In addition, it integrates support for Bluetooth and WiFi coexistence for all usage scenarios. The CM1125 is fully compliant with WiMAX Forum Wave 2 requirements as well as 3GPP GSM/EDGE standards.
SAI Technology plans to market its mobile WiMAX devices initially in the USA through its Homeland Security and WiMAX Operator channels and also in India through its WiMAX Operator channels, where there is a potentially huge mobile WiMAX market and government support for wide deployment.
